Illinois HoopStars is a premier Travel/AAU basketball program serving athletes in grades 3–11 (ages 8–17). We compete in high-level tournaments throughout the Chicagoland area and surrounding states, providing players with opportunities to grow through elite competition.

Program Seasons

Middle School (Grades 3–8):

  • Fall Season: August – November
  • Spring/Summer Season: March – July

High School (Grades 9–11):

  • Spring/Summer Season: March – July
  • Break in June for high school summer leagues
  • Resume in late June and conclude in July or early August

We prepare our athletes for success on and off the court by emphasizing discipline, teamwork, leadership, and personal growth.

Mission Statement:

The mission of Illinois HoopStars is to empower youth athletes through competition, character development, and life skills, preparing them to succeed on the court, in the classroom, and as future leaders in their communities.

History:

llinois HoopStars was founded in 2002 by Lynda Paul, mother of 2009 Illinois Mr. Basketball Brandon Paul. She established the program to help provide her sons with collegiate exposure, both of whom went on to earn Division I basketball scholarships.In 2018, Illinois HoopStars was reestablished by Cliff Paul, her oldest son, and Dalé Omotoyinbo. Their partnership dates back to their time attending the University of Illinois. Also working together running after-school youth programs and basketball camps throughout the Chicagoland area.Today, their shared vision continues to drive Illinois HoopStars’ commitment to developing young athletes through opportunity, mentorship, and high-level competition.
